Hancock Service Unit and Mt. Vernon Trails Service Unit are part of Girl Scouts of Central Indiana (GSCI).  GSCI is dedicated solely to all girls where they can build character and skills for success in the real world.  By partnering with committed adult volunteers, these girls will develop qualities that will help them throughout their lives. Leadership, strong values, self-worth, a social conscience and a conviction about the girls' own potential are all part of GSCI and GSUSA's goals for all girls.

Hancock Animal Care and Control is serving as a donation site to collect animal supplies for the animals affected by the recent tornadoes. 

How can we help as Girl Scouts? 

We will be collecting animal supplies for the month of March and April, longer if needed. 

Items needed:  Pet crates, blankets, food (hard and soft) for cats and dogs, food/water dishes, leashes, collars, bottled water,  newspapers, cat litter, and litter boxes.

Where to drop off items?

Bring them to the monthly Girl Scout meetings  or call Nickie Scott at 462-4202 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to arrange for pick up.  You can leave them at the Scout House and I will pick them up, I just need to know they are there.

Help will be needed at a later date to pack these items.  I will send out a memo when they are ready to pack and send out.  Please do not contact the shelter as they will be busy enough.  Be patient and wait for my email.  They are in the planning stages and will know more in a few weeks.  Right now lets start collecting!!
